Woodland-based cannabis beverage manufacturer Spacestation Inc. announced it is merging with Los Angeles-based Mammoth Distribution.

Spacestation is a contract manufacturer and packager of cannabis-infused beverages. The company began operating in 2019 out of a warehouse in Woodland. Beverage brands Spacestation has worked with include Pabst Blue Ribbon, Cann, Wunder, Gem + Jane, Artet and Cannabis Quencher, among others.

Mammoth Distribution is a cannabis distributor and producer of brands such as Heavy Hitters and Almora. The company employs between 200 and 300 people and its distribution network serves more than 600 retail partners.

With the merger, Spacestation is now under Mammoth's umbrella of operations, becoming its in-house beverage division. Spacestation CEO Brad Mora said the company is joining a team that shares its priorities and values.

"Ultimately, their culture is centered around happy, hungry and focused, and I can say that what we've done over the past two years at Spacestation is exactly that," Mora said. "It's almost too easy how much of an organic fit it has been for our Spacestation team to join with Mammoth."

As part of the merger, the two companies stated they plan to develop a slew of beverage and tincture products for the California market and beyond.

Their first collaboration is a cannabis tincture called HVY Grand, which was launched under the Heavy Hitters brand as an upscale product, packaged in a bottle and box. The companies say the product is a first-of-its-kind formulation that was developed through a proprietary process and infused with compounds derived from the Acapulco Gold marijuana strain.

Mammoth Distribution co-founder and CEO Skyler Sutton said the company is excited to continue building on its portfolio of products with Spacestation and that the two will complement each other as the cannabis beverage industry continues to grow around the world.

The two agree, he said, that the goal is to "radiate love through people and products."

"The way business is usually done is a thing of the past, and I think this is a sign of that. Spacestation didn't sell to a big (multi-state operator), but they followed their heart and aligned with a company with a similar culture," Sutton said. "This is a sign of times changing, which makes me happy."

Mora said Spacestation plans to continue operating out of its hub in Woodland for the foreseeable future.
