Digital insurance payments company One Inc. of Folsom has named a new chief financial officer, a payments industry veteran who has worked in the past with the company’s new CEO.

Chief Financial Officer David Thayer began his new role last week, reporting to new CEO Ian Drysdale, who was named to the top spot earlier this month.

The previous CEO and co-founder of the company Christopher Ewing is now chief strategy officer.

Thayer and Drysdale previously worked during overlapping years in senior roles at U.S. Bancorp (NYSE: USB) payments subsidiary Elavon Inc.

“David has an outstanding record of achievement and has shown to be an instrumental part of helping payments companies maintain sound financial foundation, manage their national and global sites effectively and ultimately successfully grow their business,” Drysdale said in a news release. “His leadership and long career at Elavon are proof of the talent David will bring to One Inc, and I look forward to working with him closely as we move the company into a new promising phase.”

Thayer worked for Elavon for nearly 20 years. Drysdale worked at Elavon from 2013 to 2018.

“In many ways, my decision to join One Inc is emblematic of the years spent and lessons I learned with Elavon, and I see many parallels in One Inc’s potential to serve the insurance industry with payments technology in a similarly revolutionary way,” said Thayer, in a news release. “The products, organization and market position One Inc has built in this industry are truly at the top of their class.”

Thayer earned an MBA from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a degree in accounting from East Tennessee State University.

One was recapitalized in February 2020 when it was acquired by Boston-based Great Hill Partners, a private equity firm that makes investments between $25 million and $500 million in high-growth companies in digital infrastructure, financial technology, health care and software.
