Houston-based cybersecurity and computer system consulting company Meriplex has acquired Sacramento information technology management company GNT Solutions.
GNT, which works with small and medium-sized businesses in consulting and cybersecurity, has been included on Inc. Magazine's and the Sacramento Business Journal’s lists of fastest-growing companies several times over the years.
"We are excited to announce our second strategic acquisition this year in California. GNT is a welcomed addition into Meriplex," said Meriplex CEO David Henley, in a news release. "Their consistent high level of customer service mirrors that of our own, a major advantage in bringing GNT on-board.”
He added that Sacramento is an attractive and strategic market for Meriplex. In May, Meriplex acquired Enhanced Technologies Group Inc., based in Anaheim. Enhanced kept its name and operates as "a Meriplex company," according to its website.
GNT had 74% revenue growth over three years ending in 2020, earning it a place in the Inc. 5000 list, released earlier this month.
Meriplex is strategically acquiring managed services providers across the country, getting it a physical presence in targeted markets, where it acquires technical talent and sales employees.
The GNT acquisition is at least the fifth acquisition for Meriplex since 2019, according to its website.

Neither company responded to calls and emails seeking comment.
GNT was founded in 2004 by Todd Bollenbach. The company is a Microsoft Gold partner, and has partnerships and certifications with Barracuda Networks Inc., VMware Inc. (NYSE: VNM) , Citrix Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), Aruba and Dell Technologies Inc. (NYSE: DELL), among others.
GNT provides custom IT support, cloud and disaster recovery management, network security and compliance solutions for small and medium-sized businesses.
