Across the entire Inno network, one of our most popular posts is the annual Startups to Watch roundup, a collection of the local growth-stage companies and startups, some that are on your radar and some that are purposefully off, primed for a monster year ahead.
As part of our Inno on the Road series (which is presented by BDO), we wanted to bring this program to Hampton Roads, curating a group of growth-stage companies that we predict will help shape the region's innovation economy in 2020 and beyond. This may mean a new funding round, a product launch, a market expansion, massive growth, a new pillar partnership, a strategic pivot or more; these are the companies you need to have your eyes on.
To source this list, we leaned on insights from industry experts and thought leaders, venture capitalists, accelerators and others, along with our own internal reporting. This list covers startups from a number of industries, with varying levels of funding, from across the region.
These companies range from leading-edge biopharma firms to innovative defense startups and is, by design, representative of the breadth and diversity of the region's ecosystem.
Finally, as we do in all of our markets, we like to take this story "offline" and will be hosting a Startups to Watch event later this summer.
