The votes have been cast, the sweat has been wiped, the blood has been spilt, and the Final Four round of Richmond Inno’s Tech Madness bracket is set.

Despite a massive turnout in Round 3, most of the matchups were decided by fewer than 50 votes.

Snack bar maker Health Warrior, which was acquired by PepsiCo last year, barely beat out Charlottesville-based ChartIQ. But the financial software startup put up quite a fight – continuing its momentum from raising $17 million in February with plans to double its staff.

In the battle of the No. 2 and No. 3 vote-getters in the Elite Eight, software developer North South 804 Apps edged out TraceRX by a tight margin. TraceRX likewise has reason to hold its head high, after winning first place in the Dominion Energy Innovation Center pitch competition last month.

Meanwhile, payment processing startup Blueswipe just squeezed out a win over teacher-education platform EdConnective, which was coming off its late 2018 first-place finish in the Startup Arlington competition.

OccasionGenius, which recently raised more than $1 million, landed 300 votes to give it the biggest win margin of the round with a victory over No. 1 seed TemperPack.

Moving forward, the Final Four features a pair of fierce matchups from standout Richmond innovators: OccasionGenius v. North South 804 Apps and Health Warrior v. Blueswipe.
