The Henrico Economic Development Authority on Tuesday said it is launching a program to attract overseas companies looking to establish a presence in the U.S.

The Henrico Global Business Gateway will offer companies resources, services and personalized support, according to the authority. That includes dedicated office space for up to three staffers at a reduced cost, business consulting services, legal counsel, immigration consulting, recruiting and hiring partners, networking opportunities and relocation assistance.

The authority says it is targeting companies working in advanced manufacturing, finance and insurance, health and life sciences, professional services, data centers, supply chain management and semiconductors.

The program will be housed within the recently announced Gather coworking space at 4101 Cox Road in Innsbrook. Richmond-based Gather is currently renovating its roughly 19,000-square-foot space on Cox Road. Highwoods Properties, an office real estate investment trust based in Raleigh, North Carolina, is its landlord.

“Gather West End will provide these entrepreneurs with the environment needed to continue their growth and development,” Gather CEO Doug White said in a statement. “We are honored to partner with Henrico EDA on this important endeavor.”

The Henrico Global Business Gateway is expected to begin operations early next year and has already lined up fintech Rego Inc. as its first participant. Rego is led by CEO Yogo Dubois, who lists his residence as Glen Allen on LinkedIn and has previously held executive roles in Kinshasa, Congo, and in Johannesburg.

The Henrico Economic Development Authority said the county is home to 75 international companies, including 16 from Germany, 12 from the U.K. and six from Japan.
