Richmond corporate swag company Brandito has acquired PromoSpark, a Fairfield, Ohio, branded merchandise distributor.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition comes less than a year after Brandito took on private equity investment from Chicago’s Monroe Street Partners to pursue add-on deals.

Brandito, led by founder and President Michael Lovern, said it would leverage PromoSpark’s market expertise and “creative brand solutions” to better serve clients. The deal also expands Brandito’s presence into the Midwest.

Brandito will maintain PromoSpark’s office and distribution center in Ohio. PromoSpark founder Sarah Johnston will become director of Brandito’s Midwest Division.

“This acquisition represents a significant milestone in our journey to expand our market presence and customer reach,” Lovern said in a statement. “PromoSpark is a rapidly growing distributor and I have long admired the business that Sarah Johnston and her team have built. The company’s client-focused culture and values make this acquisition a seamless fit.”

Brandito provides branded promotional products, aka swag like T-shirts, mugs, water bottles and more. It also offers product sourcing, customized e-commerce stores, warehousing and logistics, kitting and creative marketing services. Founded in 2009, the Richmond company says it has more than 600 active clients. It has cracked the Inc. 5000 — a list of the country’s fastest-growing private companies — every year since 2016.

Johnston founded PromoSpark in 2001. Its home base in Fairfield is in the Greater Cincinnati area.
