Tech Madness is flying by, with round three wrapping up last night at midnight.

Before we get to our results, a let's get on the same page on what Tech Madness actually is. It’s our reader-driven bracket competition (like March Madness) that aims to champion and highlight local startups — 32 of them, to be exact, and they’ll face off bracket-style over the next few weeks until the winner is determined. See the whole bracket here.

Our round three garnered the most votes out of any during the competition, and it had strong showings in two particular showdowns: Medley Genomics beat Sproutel by 42 votes, with AS200 beating GoPeer.

Next up is our semi-finals competition, which breaks down thusly:

 Medley Genomics versus Aquanis

Feast & Fettle versus AS220

Take note: Our next round kicks off today and will close in three days at 11:59 p.m. Then, we’ll write a post just like this one keeping you updated on where our startups stand.

If you’re not sure who to vote for, keep this in mind: While choosing who to vote for is ultimately subjective, we encourage you to engage by asking yourself, “who would I invest in?” However you interpret that question is correct. Does one company’s core values intrigue you over another’s? Does one “player” already have a stronger showing of venture funding and you want to keep sharing the love? Or perhaps your brother’s company is facing a startup that you’ve never heard of, and you really want him to take home the prize, just ’cause. Or — maybe you love one company to pieces, but realllllyyy feel like its opponent will ultimately go the distance to become the state’s first unicorn. At the end of they day? You do you.

All this voting will conclude on April 5, after which the competition will end and we’ll crown the 2019 Tech Madness winner.
