A Wakefield-based company trying to streamline the medical certification process took home the grand prize in the Get Started Rhode Island competition Wednesday.
Mocingbird, which is developing a platform that simplifies the ability to track and store medical certifications, was chosen out of a group of six finalists by both the judges and the audience, netting the startup a total of $30,000 in cash and another $25,000 in services from the event's sponsor Cox Business.
This year's event was the ninth annual edition of the contest, which Cox puts on in a number of different cities.
Among the other competitors that Mocingbird beat out were a micromobility-focused mapping app, a childbirth resource network and a blood glucose diagnostic tool.
Disclosure: Cox Business is a founding partner of Rhode Island Inno.
