It’s here: the annual Inc. 5000 list, featuring the fastest-growing privately held companies in the country.

Inc. ranks companies based on the percentage of their growth in revenue between 2016 and 2019. The companies on the list are all U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit and independent — not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies — as of Dec. 31, 2019.

The top Rhode Island-based company on the Inc. 5000, coming in at No. 654, is event marketing software startup Swoogo. The five-year-old startup is a 100-percent virtual company, with a U.S. headquarters in Warren, that has team members across the world. The team has created a software tool for event planners to help streamline certain processes. Swoogo was also one of Rhode Island Inno's Coolest Companies in 2019.
