Rite-Solutions Wins $16.8M Contract for Undersea Warfare Center Development

Middletown-based Rite-Solutions has received a $16.8 million, 5-year contract to help develop the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, the firm told Rhody Inno in an emailed press release. Rite-Solutions, the 2000-born company that serves government and commercial segments with everything from IT to cybersecurity, will specifically help develop Early Warning and Electronic Support Trainers to submarine fleet users.

In layman's terms, the system helps combat trainers' grow skills related to their roles on the submarines they serve on, a spokesperson told Rhody Inno in an email.

“It is exciting to able to play such a critical role in upgrading the training opportunities for the fleet” said Rite Solutions Senior Vice President and Director of Engineering Services Ken Haner. “Together with our teammates, SEA CORP, Northrop Grumman, and SIMVENTIONS, we know we have the correct level of expertise and capability to deliver and integrate this new capability in the Submarine Multi-Mission Team Trainer.

Other Rite-Solutions leadership expressed excitement over the deal.

“This award confirms that Rite-Solutions’ investment in becoming just one of approximately six companies in the United States who are appraised CMMI V2.0 Maturity Level 3, providing a clear value to the Navy," said Executive Vice President and General Manager Mike Coffey. "We expect to leverage our prominent position in providing trainers to the Submarine Force to support the Navy’s High Velocity Learning objectives."

This project was open to all Seaport e-contractors. While Rite-Soltuions didn't know what other specific entities placed bids for the contract, the spokesperson added that "this project was open to small-business prime contractors, which number in the hundreds."
