"U.S. News analyzed the 125 most populous metro areas to find the best places to live," the publication said regarding its methodology. "To make the top of the list, a place had to have good value, be a desirable place to live, have a strong job market and a high quality of life."
Specifically, U.S. News & World Report analyzed elements of each metro, such as the job market, net migration and quality of life.
In terms of Providence, it scored highest in job market (6.8) and quality of life (6.1), coming in with an overall ranking of 6.5.
