Mighty Well has another award to add to its trophy room. Last week, the Newport- (and Boston) based startup won the WORLDZ conference’s startup pitch competition in both the “social impact” category and the overall contest.
What’s Mighty Well? CEO Emily Levy is looking to “transform the patient experience” by creating a line of accessories meant to stylishly conceal treatment apparatuses. Her startup Mighty Well has won a host of awards, like the Draper University Pitch Day, and Levy and her team participated in the MassChallenge last year.
The first-ever Launchpad competition, held as part of the WORLDZ event in Los Angeles, looked to highlight early stage startups “creating the world of tomorrow” in a variety of different categories, like technology and culture. The pitch contest looked to highlight startups that had raised between $1 million and $5 million in capital, were founded between 2013 and 2018, have a “bold vision” and are scaling quickly.
While we’re still getting details, Levy said in an email to Rhode Island Inno that the company “was proud” to announce the win, especially since Mighty Well triumphed over “hundreds who applied.”
If you want to see Levy share her vision on the stage, check out the video of her pitch here. My favorite part is when one of the judges calls her a “badass” with an “authentic vision.”
Go Emily, go Mighty Well, and go Rhody’s ecosystem for having a HUGE win on a national stage!
