The Social Enterprise Greenhouse has opened applications for its 2018 Health & Wellness Accelerator program, for "do well, do good" businesses.

"Motivated and coachable motivate social entrepreneurs with a feasible health and wellness venture" are encouraged to apply through August 1. They should also be able to dedicate about 15 hours of combined online and in-person work a week; have either had stakeholder input, earned revenue or completed a Beta test.

Accepted applicants will participate in the SEG's 12-week program, which kicks off mid-September. Throughout that time, entrepreneurs will work through an "industry-tailored curriculum," have access to peer learning, industry-specific advisors and, upon graduation, "priority access" to the SEG Loan Fund.

The three-year old accelerator will conclude with a pitch night.

"The purpose of the Health and Wellness Accelerator program is to stimulate innovation in Rhode Island’s burgeoning health and wellness sector and to help create more successful, sustainable ‘do well, do good’ businesses leading to healthier communities for all," a release on the program states.

"Basically everything we do is to support “do well, do good” businesses, which means businesses who are making a positive impact in our community and beyond," said Crystal Rosatti, communications and water, energy and environment initiative manager at the SEG. “That’s a theme that’s run through the accelerator since its inception."

This isn't the only industry- specific accelerator program; SEG also offers an initiative for food startups.
