  2. On May 31, the 13 participating companies in the Design Catalyst headed to the Social Enterprise Greenhouse Hub to celebrate the conclusion of their cohort. The Design Catalyst is run thanks to a partnership between DesignxRI, a nonprofit economic development organization, the city of Providence, RISD and Real Jobs RI, a state Department of Labor and Training program. It’s most recent cohort ran from 2015-2016. The newer version of the program offers a total of $130,000 to Providence-based “micro” enterprises (less than five employees) with Providence-based owners. Each accepted business can receive up to $15,000 in grants. Ambo Studios, J Schatz, RA HA Jewelry and Wild Power Games were among the 13 graduates.
