Wealth management technology company eMoney Advisor has announced a new office in Providence.

The 7,000 square-foot Rhode Island location on 100 Westminster Street joins eMoney's two other offices, which are located in Radnor, Pennsylvania and La Jolla, California, respectively.

The move to Providence stemmed from the company's rapid growth and desire to have an increased Northeast presence, eMoney said in a statement.

As per a dual announcement by the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation and Gov. Gina Raimondo in March, the group looks to hire 100 employees for full time positions with a technology and software development focus by 2020.

“We welcome eMoney to their new Providence office," Raimondo said. "With workforce training and economic development as top priorities, we have added 14,000 jobs since taking office, and regained all the jobs lost during the Great Recession. Additions to the state like eMoney show Rhode Island is on the move."

eMoney CEO Ed O'Brien echoed Raimondo's sentiments.

“This is just the beginning of our journey in Rhode Island,” he said. “We’re excited to get the office up and running, becoming an integral part of the Providence community and tapping its extensive network of talent. We’re proud to expand our eMoney team so we can continue to innovate and meet the needs of our clients.”

10 employees are already set to begin work in Providence in mid-August as the company continues its "extensive" recruiting efforts in the area.

Disclosure: eMoney is a founding partner of Rhode Island Inno.
