Across the entire American Inno network, the Fire Awards — previously known as Inno on Fire — are our premier awards showcase, celebrating the startups, organizations and innovators that have had a banner year within the local ecosystem. For a little inspiration (and a brief refresher), you can check out last year's class of Fire honorees and Blazer winners.
Who can win a Fire Award — and how?
The Fire Awards honor the people and companies that are positively impacting the region’s innovation economy.
Traditionally, the businesses we honor have raised funding, released a game-changing product, filed several patents, emerged from stealth, landed a massive partner or client, built a mentor network, initiated charitable give-back programs, made a significant hire, expanded internationally or executed a successful pivot. We also spotlight individuals who are leading, supporting or assisting these organizations.
In the age of Covid-19, the 2021 list may look different than in years past. Yet, while the coronavirus has severely affected countless organizations, it has also galvanized the local entrepreneurial community, inspiring new solutions, pivots and initiatives aimed at combating this pandemic.
Across the state, startups, entrepreneurs and the people and groups that support them are finding new ways to build and scale in these unprecedented times. And Rhode Island Inno's Fire Awards will recognize them.
Who can nominate?
We invite you and your team, friends and family to nominate. If someone is helping you scale, pivot or grow, please tell us about them. If you’re aware of a business doing amazing things in Rhode Island, nominate them.
When is all this happening?
We'll reveal our list of Fire Awards honorees in April. These are the companies and individuals who are cementing lil Rhody as an innovation hub.
In May, we'll reveal the Inno Blazers, the particularly hot people and companies selected from our honorees by a panel of judges, during a virtual celebration.
