Digital archiving firm Smarsh is rolling out an integration with ChatGPT that will allow its highly regulated customers to jump into the generative AI workflow.
The new integration works with OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise Compliance product, according to a release from Smarsh. The Portland company has built its business on capturing and archiving different forms of digital communication across platforms for customers that operate within such regulated businesses as financial services.
As cloud-based generative AI has exploded onto the market in both consumer and business applications, questions around security and privacy have kept some businesses on the sidelines.
Additionally, companies need ways to prepare for expected regulations around AI generated content.
“There is immense customer value in being able to not only capture the content from ChatGPT Enterprise compliantly but for that content to be automatically appended with an ‘AI-generated content’ tag,” said Smarsh CEO Kim Crawford Goodman in a written statement. “This will help financial institutions adhere to imminent AI regulation requiring organizations to differentiate AI- versus human-generated content and maintain governance policies for each.”
With this integration, Smarsh customers can use generative AI and stay in compliance. Smarsh’s customers include 19 of the top 20 global financial instituitions.
