After about three months of public beta testing, Vancouver startup Digs is releasing its product to the market.

It's also embarking on a partnership to make home maintenance easier for homeowners. Digs' software helps residential home builders streamline communication and collaboration surrounding construction. The software collects and stores documents and plans needed in home building to make it easily accessible for all stakeholders.

When homes are completed, owners receive digital reports of everything that went into construction and all the details needed for maintenance. The company describes these reports as a "digital twin" of the physical building.

“Digs has incorporated months of real-world usage and feedback from the builder community, and this launch will, for the first time allow builders to hand off homes digitally, moving the physical home binder from the junk drawer to the cloud,” said co-founder Ryan Fink in a written statement. “This represents a significant milestone for our company.”

The company also announced a partnership with San Francisco-based Thumbtack, which helps users find home service providers.

By combining the home information from Digs with the service provider information of Thumbtack, Digs homeowners will be able to be matched with pros for their exact service needs.

"This integration will allow for an even more seamless and hassle-free experience for both pros and homeowners from the beginning of the home improvement journey," said David Steckel, senior director of partnerships at Thumbtack in a written statement.

Digs is the latest company from co-founders Fink and Ty Frackiewicz, who unveiled this new venture earlier this year.

The integration with home service professionals’ tools is reminiscent of the pair’s last company Streem, which used augmented reality to help connect homeowners with repair technicians ahead of home visits. Streem sold to Frontdoor Inc. (Nasdaq: FTDR) in 2019.

The company is currently targeting small to mid-sized home builders. One of its early customers is the high-end builder Cascade West Development, which uses Digs in two communities it is building.

Digs has a team of 22 and is backed by Fuse, Flying Fish Partners, Betaworks Ventures, Legacy Capital Ventures, Portland Seed Fund and GFR Fund.
