Here's who is pitching at the next Pitch Oregon

Thirteen companies across four categories are vying for investment and other prizes as part of the annual Pitch Oregon event put on by TiE Oregon.

The event is slated for Feb. 11, 2022 from 12:30 to 4 p.m. After the event TiE is holding its annual awards dinner. Registration is open for both events online. The event is in-person, and Covid-19 vaccination or a negative test result within 72 hours is required. The venue is still being finalized.

This year, for the first time, the event is open to startup from around the Pacific Northwest and California. Below are the categories and finalists.

Early Stage:

  • San Francisco-based Market Games, which makes education software for business professors to gamify the lessons from textbooks.
  • Hillsboro-based Instinct Environmental Co., brings sensor data to land management to fight climate change.
  • Bend-based Tonsil Tech, which makes an at-home device to remove tonsil stones.

Clean Technology:

  • Los Angeles-based Komfort IQ, which uses sensors to bring microzone climate control to ventilation in office buildings.
  • Bend-based LeapFrog Design, which designs and develops residential rainwater, graywater and wastewater recycling systems.
  • Bellevue, Washington-based Pollen Systems Corp., which uses drones or fixed-wing aircraft to collect data and supply agriculture customers with advanced analytics.

Life Sciences:

  • Portland-based Rewire Neuro Inc, which uses AI to help biomedical researchers improve the speed and repeatability of research with automated image analysis
  • Bothell, Washington-based Novuson, which is developing a surgical tool to help control bleeding during surgery or trauma procedures.
  • Cupertino, California-based PathomIQ, which is developing a personalized medicine tool that uses AI to predict response to cancer therapies.
  • Portland-based Biomotum Inc., which is developing robotic wearable aids to help people with mobility limitations or rehabilitation.

Software/Tech Enabled:

  • Eugene-based Moonshadow Mobile Inc., has developed database engines and data visualization tools to help customers understand big data.
  • Portland-based Cozera, which is creating verified digital identities for remote and in-person credentials.
  • Seattle-based Loopie Laundry, which is an on-demand laundry service that connects people willing to do laundry with those seeking to have their clothes washed and delivered back.

So far, $350,000 has been raised that will used for investment in the Life Science, Clean Tech and Software categories. The Early Stage winner will receive a cash prize, said Ben Nahir, program director for TiE’s investing group TiE Oregon Angel.

The group had 130 companies apply to pitch.
