San Francisco-based startup AnyRoad is opening a Portland sales and engineering hub.

Earlier this year the company raised $10 million and outlined plans for aggressive growth after seeing use of its software climb during event disruptions during the Covid-19 pandemic.

AnyRoad makes software used by marketers to measure and implement virtual and in-person campaigns. The company’s software integrates customer relationship management, loyalty, enterprise resource planning and point of sale systems to help brands learn about consumers.

The company has hired two Portland-based executives including Marc Shiota, head of quality, reliability and resilience. Shiota, who was most recently with Transunion and Iovation, will be building out his team here. The company plans to hire more than 20 people in Portland over the next 12 months.

AnyRoad has Portland-based positions across sales and engineering, as well as vice president of customer success, listed on its careers page.

“Our platform enables these brands to deliver experiences that are truly data-driven, something that was not possible before, and we are confident that the talented engineers and sales pros in Portland are up for the task of building and expanding on this vision,” said co-founder and CEO Jonathan Yaffe in a written statement.

Portland was selected for an office because of its talent pool as well as its proximity to the San Francisco headquarters, said a company spokesman.

AnyRoad has raised $19.2 million from investors. Backers include Andreessen Horowitz, Runa Capital and Salesforce founder Marc Benioff.

For now, the Portland team is working remotely, but the company plans to secure an office early next year.
