The sports technology startup Beyond Pulse has named its first board of advisers. The board includes executives with expertise in wearable technology, brand building and sports.
Portland-based Beyond Pulse makes a simple activity monitor designed to help youth sports coaches make practices more active and more effective.
The advisers:
- Barry McNeill, a UK-based executive with experience in wearables technology, including working as CEO for Catapult in Europe and Asia.
- Yan Martin, a Boston-based executive who previously worked for Reebok in several roles, including as head of brand in Europe and vice president of product and marketing in hockey.
- Claude Ruibal, a Zurich, Switzerland-based executive who's worked in global sports.
"We have assembled an exemplary group of business leaders to help take Beyond Pulse to the next level," said CEO and co-founder Marc-André Maillet in a news release. "With their collective experiences, our goal is to drive business growth with more sophistication and strategic direction."
Beyond Pulse has raised more than $2.5 million from two angel investors. It expects a strong year as youth sports resume and the pandemic eases.
