The nonprofit consumer products organization Built Oregon this week announced several new board members and the appointment of Stephen Green as chair.

Green is chief operating officer of A Kids Book About and a small business advocate known for various projects, including Do. Do More. Do Better, Pitch Black and a $62 million state fund for Black Oregonians, small businesses and nonprofits.

"As a lifelong Oregon resident and a long-time mentor and supporter of the variety of consumer products companies across this great state, I am greatly looking forward to helping guide Built Oregon in its continued efforts, all while ensuring that our organization remains diligent in championing BIPOC and women-founded consumer product companies throughout our state," Green said in a news release. "It has been an incredibly challenging year for all of our consumer product companies, but I remain confident that — given the wealth of knowledge, opportunity, and passion in our community — we can and will recover from this situation stronger than ever."

Built Oregon announced five new board members:

  • Saul Lopez, formerly of Nike, will serve as vice chair.
  • Bobbie Parisi, owner of Parisi Consulting, a marketing agency that works with food and beverage, outdoor and footwear and apparel clients.
  • Jocelyn Rice, founder of Black Earth United and an apparel designer for Columbia Sportswear.
  • Sarah Pool, co-founder and CEO of Take Two Foods, a beverage company that uses upcycled spent barley.
  • Katharine Reinhold, of Adidas, who has been a mentor for Built Oregon companies for two years.

Several board members returned for additional terms, including Adam Turco, Scott Davidson, Kirsten Ringen and Chris Bailey.

Sandy Pressley, Leslie Mullins, Lori Spencer and co-founder Rick Turoczy departed the board.

Co-founder Mitch Daugherty remains Built Oregon director. Turoczy is general manager of PIE, the nonprofit's startup accelerator arm.

Built Oregon, founded in 2017, works across the state with the entire spectrum of consumer products companies, including food, beverage and apparel.
