An England-based industry trade group is looking to double down on the success of the inaugural Aviation & Robotics Summit that took place in Pittsburgh last April by committing to host the event in Steel City.
Future Travel Experience, a firm that looks to advance the interests of those in the aviation industry, also announced during the Future Travel Experience Global 2023 event in Long Beach, California, that Pittsburgh International Airport will serve as the host airport for the event just as it did this past year.
The event is set to take place between May 14 and May 16, and, given its announcement at FTE's international-focused event, officials are hoping to eclipse the global attention that the inaugural event drew this past spring where 25 airlines and airports around the world participated.
"We are so excited to be bringing the FTE Aviation & Robotics Summit back to Pittsburgh in 2024, following the overwhelming success of the first edition of the Summit in April 2023, which received rave reviews from everyone involved," Daniel Coleman, founder & CEO of FTE, said in a post on Blue Sky News, a publication of PIT. "Thanks to its reputation for innovation and its leadership in the field of robotics, Pittsburgh really is the perfect place to host this summit."
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro helped kick off the launch of the inaugural Aviation & Robotics Summit this year, which was hosted by the Pittsburgh Robotics Network and Innovation Works Inc. A crowd of about 300 people attended the opening reception on the summit's first day. It was proceeded by several days of collaborating and strategizing by local robotics firms and global players in the aviation industry to try and find solutions to challenges affecting this sector that could be solved but the use of robots.
