A Pittsburgh-based digitization services firm is celebrating the grand opening of a 25,000-square-foot facility that will help scale the company's operations.

Forever Inc. said its new $5 million digitization building near Green Bay, Wisconsin, will add to the company's ability to convert over two million VHS tapes, films, photos and negative images to a digital equivalent per year. It employs 30 people at the site currently but expects to grow that figure to 125 workers in the coming months and years.

"After many months of planning and construction, my team and I are thrilled to bring our new state-of-the-art digitization facility online," Glen Meakem, founder and CEO of Forever, said in a prepared statement. "The expanded footprint and new equipment will enable significant growth of the Forever digitization business and our entire memory-keeping platform in the months and years ahead."

Meakem's first software company, FreeMarkets Inc., helped put Pittsburgh's then-nascent tech scene on the map when he sold the firm for $500 million in 2004. He has been active with startup investing and, since its founding in 2012, with Forever.
