A nonprofit that offers professional training and coaching to business owners has received $1.17 million in federal funding to bring its services to upwards of 300 small business owners.
Entrepreneurs Forever, based in Pittsburgh, will use the new funding to offer free assistance to help small business owners overcome various challenges that many budding enterprises face. It'll do this through the creation of numerous cohorts of small business owners throughout Pennsylvania who will meet periodically to discuss the burdens they are facing and how they overcame prior obstacles.
The program will run for three years and is designed for those who are running a company that has surpassed the startup stage of development.
"For a long time, there has been a gap in what resources are available for entrepreneurs and businesses looking to grow: there is lots of support for startups and people in the ideation phase, and lots of support for established entrepreneurs and small businesses making millions of dollars a year in revenue. But the support for small businesses that are no longer startups but need to grow was missing," AJ Drexler, CEO of Entrepreneurs Forever, said in a prepared statement. "The $1.17 million in new funding from the federal government will allow us to create more cohorts of small business owners looking to grow past the startup stage into lasting success."
