Over 8,000 homes and businesses in Cranberry Township will soon have access to Comcast Corp.'s latest multi-gigabit broadband internet offering.
Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) will activate its Xfinity 10G internet service in Cranberry later this summer. It comes as part of the company's broader $2.4 billion expenditure throughout Pennsylvania over the past few years to improve and expand its service offerings.
"Expanding our high-speed and reliable internet access to residents will provide important broadband connections they need for their educational, professional and personal lives," Ray Roundtree, senior vice president for Comcast’s Keystone Region, said in a prepared statement.
The Philadelphia-based telecommunications conglomerate first entered Cranberry with its Comcast Business offering in 2020.
"Since coming into the Cranberry market, Comcast has proven to be a great partner to the business community," Jim Boltz, president of the Pittsburgh North Chamber of Commerce, said in a prepared statement. "Their expansion of residential internet service will only help the Cranberry community to continue to thrive and grow."
