Telecommunications giant Comcast Corp. has announced the appointment of Ray Roundtree to serve as the senior vice president of its Keystone Region, which covers much of the western half of Pennsylvania, the Ohio Valley and the Maryland panhandle.
Roundtree, based in Pittsburgh, is now tasked with overseeing Comcast's financial, operational and strategic performance across this geographic region, which is also based out of Pittsburgh. He succeeds Toni Murphy, who left the post in October for a promotion to serve as senior vice president of sales and marketing for Comcast’s Central Division, which covers 11 Midwest and southeastern states.
"With his industry expertise and broad experience running major markets, Ray will be a great leader for the Keystone Region," Amy Lynch, president of Comcast’s Northeast Division, said in a press release. "I know Ray will be successful in continuing to deliver our innovative products and services to area homes and businesses — keeping them connected to what matters most."
Roundtree first joined the Philadelphia-based company in 2000 as a director of business operations. He rose through the ranks of several financial management posts over the past two decades with the company, most recently ending up as the vice president of finance for Comcast's Baltimore-based Beltway Region.
His appointment to lead the Keystone Region is one that will serve as a return to a place he once called home.
"I’m thrilled to come back to Comcast’s Keystone Region to lead a team that’s creating awesome experiences for our customers and employees," Roundtree said in the release. "My family and I are grateful to be able to continue my career journey in a part of the country where we have deep roots."
Roundtree holds both an MBA and a bachelor's in finance from Penn State University.
