Tacoma, Washington-based social support platform Give InKind has been acquired by the Pittsburgh-based gift card company Wolfe LLC.
The companies aren't disclosing financial terms of the deal, which was announced Monday. Give InKind founder and CEO Laura Malcolm said the company's nine employees are all joining Wolfe and nobody will have to relocate.
“We are very excited to work with Give InKind to further the mission of helping people through life’s challenging moments,” Jason Wolfe, founder and CEO of Wolfe, said in a release. “With this partnership, we’ll be able to leverage our technology to expand Give InKind’s platform and offer Give InKind’s solution to our corporate clients.”
Malcolm added that Give InKind will keep its brand.
Give InKind, founded in 2016, allows users to set up a support page during challenging life events, such as a death in the family, a major injury or the loss of a home. The support page allows friends and family to deliver meals, help with child care and buy gift cards for someone in need. Users can post photos to keep their support network updated on progress, and they can share the page through social media.
Wolfe, meanwhile, was founded in 1995 and is the parent company of multiple internet-based gift card companies. Its brand Gift Card Granny, for example, allows users to buy and build customized gift cards, while GiftYa, another Wolfe brand, allows users to text or email digital gift cards. The company says it has 125 employees and has sold 3.7 million digital gift cards and over 12 million physical gift cards. It was Pittsburgh's fastest-growing private company by revenue in 2022.
“By working with Wolfe, LLC, we’ll be able to not only improve our suite of offerings to our users, but we’ll be able to power employee support for thousands of enterprise customers,” Malcolm said in a release.
