Canonsburg-based software simulation company Ansys Inc. launched its latest product on Monday, which aims to offer its customers easier access to the company's suite of simulation tools.

Ansys (NASDAQ: ANSS) partnered with Amazon Web Services Inc. — a provider of on-demand cloud computing platforms and a subsidiary of Amazon.com Inc. — to launch its new Ansys Gateway powered by AWS product. The product allows developers, designers and engineers to manage Ansys simulation and CAD/CAE projects entirely in the cloud via a web browser, which the company touts as being an easier, more flexible and scalable way to access Ansys software while away from a dedicated workstation.

"Our goal at Ansys has always been to make simulation accessible to as many startups, students and businesses – large and small – as possible," Shane Emswiler, senior vice president of products at Ansys, said in a prepared statement. "Providing easy, affordable access to Ansys' solutions makes greater innovation and efficiency possible for all of our customers."

Emswiler said that by working with AWS, Ansys is better positioned to permit broader access to high-performance computing needs through the cloud offering, which reduced traditional hardware barriers "that have limited innovation for many of our customers."
