A giving technology firm that counts a Pittsburgh fintech entrepreneur as an investor on Wednesday said it has set up its corporate headquarters in Mount Lebanon.

DipJar has taken 3,500 square feet at 607 Washington Road, enabling it to accommodate new hires in sales, marketing, engineering and other posts. It will maintain a strong engineering presence in Boston. DipJar also has an office in Austin, Texas. It employs 15 at present, including five in Pittsburgh but plans to double that by year-end.

DipJar’s integrated payments platform enables charities and non-profit organizations across the country collect credit card donations anywhere. The company’s roots go back to 2008 and it rolled out its first products in 2012. Sales were not disclosed, but DipJar said it has over 5,500 customers and that more than $20 million has been raised through its namesake product and online giving platform.

“I’m proud to be an investor, advisor and board member for DipJar — and to welcome them to Pittsburgh,” Brian Shanahan said in a prepared statement. “I looked everywhere for the best in-person event fundraising solution and found that with DipJar. I have been impressed with the work and vision of the DipJar team and am excited to play an active and constructive role in our future.”

A repeat fintech entrepreneur, Shanahan’s most recent startup, Pineapple Payments, was acquired last year by Fiserve Inc., and his company before that, CardConnect Corp., was bought by First Data Corp. for $750 million in 2017. He is managing partner of PCG Capital, known for Cool Springs, the South Hills recreational sports campus, and Oxford Athletic Club in Wexford, among other properties.

DipJar CEO Chris Selland said this is an important time in his company’s history.

“Pittsburgh has everything we’re seeking — a well-educated workforce, a growing tech community and a reputation as a rapidly-emerging hub for fintech and non-profit innovation,” Selland said in a prepared statement. “This great workspace provides our people with the opportunity to further innovate our fund-raising technologies and services and to support our growing customer base. It’s a perfect fit for DipJar as we expand.”
