Pleasent Hills-based computer support services company Ideal Integrations announced a partnership with Frontenac, a Chicago-based private equity firm, to complete a strategic recapitalization.
In addition to providing end-to-end IT services, Ideal Integration provides cybersecurity services through its Blue Bastion brand, the third-largest cybersecurity business in the Pittsburgh area. The firm will explore potential strategic acquisitions as part of the partnership, although possibilities have not yet been disclosed.
As part of the recapitalization Frontenac partner Nelson Eng will become chairman of Ideal Integration's board of directors. Eng, who has over 30 years of experience in the industry, previously served as CEO of Silicon Valley-based IT firm Milestone Technologies Inc., as well as CDO of Asburn, Virginia-based DXC Technology. Earlier in his career, Eng was a vice president and general manager of the Financial Services Sector at Oracle, one of the world's largest computer technology companies.
"Ideal Integrations is experiencing significant growth and I feel this partnership with Frontenac marks the next phase in our evolution," Ideal Integration founder and CEO Michael Stratos said in a prepared statement. "Frontenac brings extensive industry experience and is dedicated to helping us expand our services and capabilities."
Frontenac chose to partner with Ideal Integrations because it has several IT service and tech-enabled companies in its portfolio.
"This announcement signals a new chapter for Ideal Integrations," Eng said in a prepared statement. "We are eager to collaborate with Michael and his team as we guide Ideal Integrations into its next stage of growth, intending to become the premier platform for managed IT and cybersecurity services."
