Following a months long pilot program, Abridge signed an enterprise-wide agreement with CHRISTUS Health, a Texas-based health system, the latest in a series of advances for the NVIDIA-backed artificial intelligence company.
The AI technology transcribes and then documents conversations between clinicians and patients. A survey conducted alongside the pilot program found that 78% of clinicians noted a reduction in cognitive load and 40% reported a decrease in feeling burnt out.
Abridge has seen rapid expansion this year. The company closed a $150 million Series C funding round in February and then announced the aforementioned collaboration with NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA). The company has launched several partnerships following successful testings and the technology is currently used by more than 10,000 clinicians.
"We deploy in a new system almost every week," an Abridge spokesperson said in a statement. "This year we've signed agreements with dozens of health systems, including UChicago Medicine, Sutter Health and regional hospitals across the country."
While CHRISTUS operates hospitals internationally, in both Mexico and Chile, and in states other than Texas, an Abridge spokesperson said that the current agreement is for a rollout to all ambulatory clinicians in CHRISTUS's Texas locations.
When asked if Abridge would continue to prioritize pilot programs or push for a widespread deployment, the spokesperson said "we work with every health system and deploy with their needs in mind."
