You can teach a wise owl new tricks. Call it Duo Act Deux and, yes, it's due major kudos.

Duolingo was honored by Ad Age as Brand of the Year at the industry trade publication’s eighth annual 2024 Creativity Awards. Winners were announced on Thursday.

“It wasn’t until last year that Duolingo moved beyond a social-first approach, tapping into pop culture moment after moment, to gain universal appeal,” Ad Age said.

In June 2023, Time magazine put Duolingo on its list of the 100 Most Influential Companies in the world.

The East Liberty-based language app is known for Duo, its green owl mascot, which turned up in Times Square when Duolingo (NASDAQ:DUOL) went public in 2021 and last year capitalized on “Barbie” mania, clad in a fuchsia jumpsuit and blonde wig.

The Creativity Awards celebrate impactful and innovative ideas, the agency/marketing executives behind them and the production professionals who bring them to life across 24 categories, Ad Age said.
