Mawson Infrastrucure Group on Thursday said it would host about 50 megawatts of bitcoin machines for another company at its facility at the former ATI steel plant in Midland.
Mawson (Nasdaq: MIGI) said it would host 15,876 Bitmain Antminer S19 XP miners for Consensus Technology Group LLC for 12 months. It would be about half of the 100 megawatts available at Midland and about half of the 32,930 miner capacity.
Hosting, or colocating machines at Mawson Infrastructure's facility, is one of the company's three sources of revenue. The other two are using their own machines to mine bitcoin and also selling back power to the grid.
"We believe this new customer agreement and our discussions with multiple parties reflect the industry's and ecosystem's confidence in Mawson's platforms," said CEO Rahul Mewawalla. "The execution of this new customer agreement is another major accomplishment for the company and our stakeholders."
Mawson also has a working bitcoin mining operation in Bellefonte, with about 8.8 megawatts of capacity and 2,545 bitcoin miners.
Financial terms of the agreement weren't disclosed.
