Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business announced it has formed a new strategic partnership with medical technology company Vapotherm Inc. (NYSE: VAPO) to offer a tailored AI program for Vapotherm employees titled "Vapotherm AI for Business."
By tapping into CMU's AI expertise, Vapotherm will help find solutions for its customers that are capable of delivering better care, improving their quality of life, reducing the impact of chronic respiratory diseases and lowering overall health care costs.
Tepper's Executive Education team will design the curriculum for the program, which will also help Vapotherm employees better incorporate AI and machine learning technologies into the company's products.
“With the rapid growth of digital health technologies, connected medical devices and expansion of individual patient longitudinal data sets of respiratory symptoms, Vapotherm is embracing the use of AI and machine learning (ML) to scale digital capabilities,” Joe Army, president and CEO of Vapotherm, said in a statement. “We are excited to partner with Carnegie Mellon to help our team understand how to safely, ethically and rapidly incorporate AI in order to deliver better solutions for our patients, clinicians and customers.”
The program is set to begin within the coming weeks.
Vapotherm, based in Exeter, New Hampshire, is a global medtech company that focuses on developing noninvasive technologies and digital health solutions for respiratory patients. The company said over 3.3 million patients have been treated with the use of its high-velocity therapy systems.
