A Johnstown-based scientific research and development services organization has landed a $75.5 million military contract to provide the management, analysis and technical support of a new safety and occupational health program for the Department of Defense.
The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, Force Safety and Occupational Health awarded Concurrent Technologies Corp. the eight-figure contract, which will look to reduce injury and occupational illness risk across the entire military, according to CTC.
"The DoD recognizes that commitment to safety is vital to the effectiveness and readiness of the force and is committed to minimizing avoidable losses whenever possible," the company said in a statement.
CTC said it has been developing and implementing safety and occupational health management systems for over 15 years, which it said has led to fewer lost workdays and improved productivity across the organizations it has worked with for these programs.
In addition to its headquarters in Johnstown, the company employs about a combined 1,000 workers across its offices in Alabama, Maryland and Virginia
