In 2018, RareMed Solutions was founded by Dr. Gordon Vanscoy, a longtime leader at PANTHERx Rare. Since then, Dr. Douglas Gebhard has worked alongside Vanscoy to lead the company in rapid growth — revenue grew by over 111% between 2020 and 2022 to $16.5 million. Gebhard spearheaded RareMed’s innovations in catalyzing access to therapies for patients with rare and complex conditions. In addition to leading the company, he led the in-house development of its patient management platform, RarePath, which connects a patient’s entire care network utilizing analytics and real-time data.
How does your product fill a specific niche or solve a problem?
RarePath was developed to support the unique challenges of the patients we support. We needed a product that could walk patients through customized care experiences while maintaining the nimbleness to adapt to changes in each patient’s journey and allow for future enhancements and integrations. What is your vision for the future impact of your product?
Our vision is to build a fully integrated ecosystem for rare and complex disease patients that connects all of the stakeholders in their care network: The patient, their caregivers, the pharmacies, the health care providers, the payors and all of the other very important entities that facilitate care to patients. By creating a single, reliable, secure platform that is built to guide each person on their journey, time gets saved, education gets stronger, data quality gets improved, errors get reduced and lives get better. This interconnectedness will take a population of people that has traditionally been underserved and create curated care journeys that yield better health care outcomes and patient satisfaction.
