Despite the macroeconomic headwinds seen across the country for the better part of a year, Pittsburgh's tech and innovation community remains ablaze.

As part of a continued effort that highlights those leading the region's budding tech scene, Pittsburgh Inno is once again hosting "The Fire Awards" later this summer, a recognition program that honors the individuals and startups who have ignited sparks of innovation throughout the region over the past year.

But we need your help.

Free nominations for this program are open until May 19. After nominations close, those with the strongest applications will be selected and placed into one of the following categories:

  • Rising Founders: Recognizes exceptional startup founders who exhibit strong leadership and a clear vision for their company's success. Nominees should be dedicated risk-takers with industry knowledge who are actively involved in their startup's day-to-day operations.
  • Ecosystem Advocates: Honors individuals who are actively involved in the startup community and play a critical role in supporting and promoting startups. Nominees should have a deep understanding of the ecosystem, be well-connected and able to bring together startups, investors, mentors and other stakeholders.
  • Trailblazing Innovators: A category for the creators, those who are developing innovative products and services that could revolutionize their industries. They could be people at later-stage companies, growth-stage startups, nonprofits, universities or other organizations.

The program will also celebrate the startups that have had the largest funding round raises over the past year as well as those that had a significant exit, be that through an acquisition or merger with another firm or from the public debut of a startup on a stock exchange.

Self-nominations for this program are also accepted.

To receive an award, winners must be a resident of western Pennsylvania and currently be employed in the region. More details about eligibility requirements can be found here.

Submit your nominations here and don't delay.
