Scottsdale-based startup Sinatra is unveiling its newest product and hosting a panel with restaurant and insurance industry leaders at an event in October.

Sinatra’s founders, Adam Laor and Brian Pierce, are presenting the Voice of Hospitality panel from 6-8:30 p.m. on Oct. 25 at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.

The panel will focus on mitigating and managing risk in the hospitality industry.

Panel speakers will include Howard Beck, chief underwriting officer of Illinois Casualty Company; David DeLorenzo, president of Bar Restaurant Insurance; Jeff Steinberg, former VP, XtraChef, Toast; and Steve Chucri, president of the Arizona Restaurant Association.

Following the panel, Sinatra will reveal its latest product — the Sinatra Risk Management Suite — which provides new “levels of connectivity and risk measurement to carriers in hospitality,” according to the company.

“We are confident that this new product will change the face of insurance in our industry forever,” Laor said in a statement.

The Sinatra Risk Management Suite allows insurance carriers to flatline rates for operators and issue discounts based on performance. It also includes a risk management tool for users to manage insurance policies, management reports, safety tips and more.

Laor, a 20-year-old entrepreneur, and Pierce, a hospitality industry veteran, founded Sinatra in 2021.

Laor and Pierce initially developed Sinatra’s platform out of the idea to use software to hasten food pick-up times at restaurants. The co-founders later realized the potential of building technology for efficiency, savings, and training in the hospitality industry.

They created an all-in-one workforce safety, compliance and training app. It allows employers to upload material specific to their establishment for employee training.

In 2022, Sinatra raised $1.4 million in pre-seed funding from a mix of Arizona-based hospitality investors and San Francisco angel investors as it continued to work on development and launch of its software products.

Sinatra has partnered with Bar & Restaurant Insurance, Arizona’s largest bar and restaurant underwriter; Arizona Liquor Industry Consultants; Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits; and Illinois Casualty Cos. Through those partnerships, Sinatra is able to offer legal compliance forms via its app, cutting down training time by weeks, the Business Journal previously reported.

AZ Inno highlighted Sinatra as a company poised for growth in 2023 in its annual Startups to Watch list.
