Dyper, a Scottsdale company that makes plant-based diapers, has earned its B Corp certification, a designation for companies that have proven positive impacts on society and the environment.

The B Corp certification is awarded by B Lab, a nonprofit based in Pennsylvania with offices around the globe. Dyper said it earned 90.4 points on the assessment criteria; companies need a minimum score of 80 points to earn the designation.

“Dyper's mission is to have a positive impact on the planet by reducing what we can and offsetting what we can’t,” CEO Sergio Radovcic said in a statement. “The B Corp certification proves that we are doing things the right way, not only for the babies today with diapers that perform well but for the babies in the future with less plastic, less waste, and less greenwashing.”

Dyper joins a small group of Arizona companies to achieve B Corp status. Just seven other Arizona-based companies — Technicians For Sustainability, Allied Cloud, DMD Systems Recovery, Dev Equity, Kypris, Source Global and Y Scouts — have earned the designation, according to the B Corporation website.

Dyper launched in 2018 after Radovcic considered how many diapers just his household was sending to the landfill in Phoenix.

Dyper brand diapers are available on the company’s website and at Amazon, Babylist, Grove Collaborative, Thrive Market, and Whole Foods Market.

In addition to selling diapers, the company also offers a take-away diaper service called Redyper for customers in several major cities including San Francisco, Boston, parts of New York City, Chicago, Phoenix and more.

Dyper has previously raised $20 million in venture capital to expand the business.
