A company in one of the fastest-growing sectors in Nashville’s health care industry has new Arizona owners.

ApolloLIMS — a laboratory information management systems firm — has been purchased by Tucson-based CliniSys Group, according to a news release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Nashville's laboratory and testing services sector has grown in recent years, most recently with the addition of California-based Ovation Fertility, which moved its headquarters to Nashville last month. Other firms, such as Resolve Molecular Diagnostics and Axis Research and Technologies, have expanded their lab operations in Music City.

ApolloLIMS provides laboratory software to labs specializing in clinical, public health, toxicology and molecular diagnostics, according to the release. ApolloLIMS employees will join CliniSys, and ApolloLIMS’ platform will be integrated into CliniSys’ existing diagnostic capabilities.

“ApolloLIMS and its team bring tremendous expertise to CliniSys. Not only will they help expand our knowledge of diagnostics within and beyond the clinical laboratory, but they share our deep belief that the future of digital diagnostics lies in the cloud,” CliniSys CEO Michael Simpson said in the release. “With the addition of ApolloLIMS, we are now poised to seize new opportunities to quickly expand our offerings in community and public health diagnostics, and to help better track and prevent disease.”

Headquartered in Tucson and Chertsey, England, CliniSys is one of the largest laboratory information systems providers in the U.K., Europe and United States, according to the release. Its platform is used in more than 3,000 labs, across 34 countries.
