My View: ChatGPT is here to stay. Why your business needs to get into the AI game

Rise of the machines: Copyright in a world of AI
Since the arrival of ChatGPT and its competitors, AI’s emergence is forcing industries — particularly creative industries — to reckon with how businesses will change.
.

Imagine having a personal assistant who never sleeps, works at lightning speed, and writes like Shakespeare. Welcome to the world of ChatGPT, an AI language model by OpenAI that is on the cusp of changing the way we work. ChatGPT is part of a broader group of AI models called Large Language Models (LLMs). These models are like brainy giants, trained on a vast sea of text data to understand and generate human-like text.

Bill Gates recently wrote: “In my lifetime, I’ve seen two demonstrations of technology that struck me as revolutionary.” The first was in 1980 when he was introduced to a graphical user interface. The second was when he was introduced to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

Think of ChatGPT as your new AI personal assistant who can understand vast amounts of text, write like a pro, reason, adapt, and learn.

Need something done? Plug-ins will employ a whole team of apps and other AI’s to do your bidding, while you grab a cup of coffee.

What can ChatGPT do right now?

Businesses are already moving the needle in a significant way with ChatGPT and LLMs, using them to streamline operations, dazzle customers, and boost productivity. Here are some ways you can bring the magic of these AI models into your business today:

  • Customer support: ChatGPT can be your tireless virtual assistant, expertly handling customer queries and helping you serve them with lightning-fast responses.
  • Content creation: Need a blog post or social media update? ChatGPT can craft high-quality content, in any style or tone you fancy, freeing up your time for other important tasks.
  • Data analysis: ChatGPT can process and analyze heaps of data, turning it into valuable insights that help you make smarter decisions.
  • Personalized recommendations: ChatGPT can tailor product or service recommendations based on user preferences and behavior, making your customers feel like royalty.

But where do you start? Keep these three tips in mind: Dip your toes in by testing ChatGPT in one area of your business, such as customer support; analyze and refine your results considering ChatGPT is conversational and learns from you; and consult with a prompt engineer focused on improving employee productivity.

But wait… there’s more!

The future of ChatGPT is incredibly exciting, with new applications and features popping up almost daily. One of the most anticipated developments is ChatGPT plug-ins, which will let businesses seamlessly plug ChatGPT into various platforms, applications, and even other LLMs.

These plug-ins will empower nontech business owners to leverage ChatGPT's magic without needing a degree in computer science or investing in costly infrastructure. Picture having a ChatGPT plugin for your website, CRM system, or project management tool – just for starters. Consider speaking to an agency that fully understands Chat GPT to help you leverage the potential of LLMs

Some ChatGPT plugin applications include:

  • E-commerce: Spice up product descriptions, offer real-time customer support, and generate personalized recommendations.
  • HR: Streamline resume screening, schedule interviews, and support new hires from day one.
  • Project management: Generate project updates, monitor progress, and suggest improvements based on data analysis.
  • Finance: Expose hidden expenses, find missed revenue opportunities, and run modeling scenarios.

I echo Bill Gate’s enthusiasm for ChatGPT and LLMs. As someone who has been coding since I was 14, I can confidently say I have never seen anything on this level of magnitude. My advice: Jump in now.
