Tristan Tierce is helping people with food allergies or dietary restrictions dine with confidence through his company, Allergy Voyage.
Allergy Voyage hosts restaurant menus on its website, allowing people with dietary restrictions or allergies to view ingredients.
Tierce’s idea for Allergy Voyage was sparked in the summer prior to his sophomore year at Arizona State University. He was planning a trip abroad with friends but was unsure how he would safely dine in a foreign country.
“I had never been out of the country and I had absolutely no resources. I had no idea how I was going to figure out how to eat in a country that I had never been to without having a reaction,” he said. “It was a super humbling and scary experience, and I didn't end up being able to go on a trip at that time because I wasn't able to find enough information.”
Over the past three years, Tierce, along with cofounder Jonathan Janosky, has continued to develop Allergy Voyage into a go-to resource with restaurant menus and listed ingredients.
Allergy Voyage recently established a partnership with Sun Devil Hospitality, which operates restaurants on ASU’s campuses throughout the Valley. The company plans to roll out menus from restaurants on ASU’s campuses later this month.
What’s more, Allergy Voyage has also garnered interest from a restaurant group in Florida, paving the way for the company to possibly expand its resource outside of Arizona.
“I truly want people with food allergies to feel like they can dine safely across the globe,” he said.
