Mackenzy Leray founded Signature Tote Co. in February, after visiting family in Canada, where plastic bags are banned. It sparked development of Signature Tote Co.’s flagship eco-friendly product, a free reusable grocery bag with NFC technology.
By tapping a phone to the bag, customers receive access to coupons, discounts and promotional items from stores.
Signature Tote Co. received the People’s Choice Award in Grand Canyon University’s 2024 Canyon Challenge and presented at Gensler’s Earth Day Summit in April. Leray also had an opportunity to pitch the company in front of Arizona Congressman Eli Crane, who is also the founder and CEO of Bottle Breacher.
Signature Tote is poised to continue gaining market traction with growing interest from environmentally conscious consumers and retailers, Leray said.
The company aims to forge strategic partnerships with retail stores to amplify the product’s reach.
“The company is excited to explore collaboration opportunities and grow within the evolving landscape of sustainability and innovation,” Leray said.
