Venture capital funding might be down, but Philadelphia startups are proving they can still rake in deals, landing among the nation's top five markets for deal volume in the first quarter of 2023. That's just one sign that the region's innovation ecosystem remains on fire.
PHL Inno will recognize the companies and individuals behind that momentum for our second annual Fire Awards. Nominations for the program are open, but the window to nominate is coming to a close. The deadline to submit for this year has been extended until June 5.
The Fire Awards are Inno’s premiere awards program, highlighting the businesses and individuals driving the region’s innovation scene forward.
For the program, we’re seeking both companies and individuals, whether from growth-stage startups or later-stage tech pillars, accelerators, venture capital firms, higher education institutions, nonprofits or other arenas. We're specifically looking for those that are setting the local innovation scene ablaze by securing new funding, investing in innovative ways, adding employee headcount, making an impact on the community, launching new products, experiencing overall growth, or otherwise reshaping the local innovation ecosystem.
Nominees must be located and headquartered in Greater Philadelphia. A complete list of qualifying counties and other parameters can be found on our nomination form.

Nominations will be reviewed by our editorial team, which will determine both honorees and "Blazers." Blazers are at the very height of the game in their respective categories and will be revealed in a special edition of the Philadelphia Business Journal in August.
