Philadelphia-area startups raked in $8.1 billion of venture capital funding in 2021, tripling the previous record of $2.7 billion set the year prior. Companies across the region are building on that momentum and PHL Inno will recognize those blazing the brightest trails with our first annual Fire Awards, for which nominations are now open.
The Fire Awards are Inno’s premiere awards program, highlighting the businesses and individuals driving the region’s innovation scene forward.
Nominations will remain open through May 29 and can be found here.
For the Fire Awards, we’re seeking both companies and individuals, whether from growth-stage startups or later-stage tech pillars, accelerators, venture capital firms, higher education institutions, nonprofits or other arenas.
PHL Inno is looking for those that are setting the local innovation scene on fire by securing new funding, investing in innovative ways, adding employee headcount, making an impact on the community, launching new products, experiencing overall growth, or otherwise reshaping the local innovation ecosystem.
Nominees must be located in Greater Philadelphia. A complete list of qualifying counties can be found on the nomination form.
Nominations will be reviewed by our editorial team, who will determine both honorees and "Blazers." Blazers are at the very height of the game in their respective categories and will be revealed in a special edition of the Philadelphia Business Journal on July 22.
