The Maui Food Technology Center is hosting a virtual workshop for food entrepreneurs on product labeling. Its Food Labeling Workshop will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14.
The session will be led by Nina Ann Tanabe, the principal of Pacific Food Technology, who’s also board president of the Maui Food Technology Center. According to the center in a statement announcing the event, Tanabe has more than 35 years of experience in product development, regulatory compliance, ingredient sourcing, manufacturing and other areas.
Tanabe will cover topics including who needs food labels, FDA requirements for labeling, and more.
“Understanding the vital role of food labeling is not just a compliance measure, but a strategic advantage. It is the compass that guides consumer trust, sets your product apart, and ensures regulatory adherence. During this virtual Food Labeling Workshop, you’ll learn how proper food labeling can be a game-changer for your entrepreneurial success,” Tanabe said in a statement.
The Maui Food Technology Center is a nonprofit organization, which, according to its website, is dedicated to “encouraging, educating and creating opportunities for entrepreneurs seeking to earn a living through value-added products, agriculture, cultural practices, food and environmental sustainability, technology and economic diversification.”
