The Economic Research Organization at the University of Hawaii on Tuesday launched a publicly available, interactive housing dashboard, where users are able to look at housing market data across Hawaii’s neighborhoods.

"The high cost of housing in Hawaii imposes significant financial and emotional burdens on residents, making it a pressing concern across the Islands," a Sept. 26 announcement from UHERO noted. "Comprehensive data and analysis serve as critical tools to inform discussions and policy decisions."

According to the announcement, the newly launched dashboard allows users to customize their data reports based on location, with information such as property and rental market, demographics, zoning and housing stock.

The dashboard complements UHERO's "Hawaii Housing Factbook," the first edition of which was released in June and offers housing data for the state, counties and 63 zip codes.

UHERO also has included in the dashboard a special section with housing data for the area in Lahaina directly affected by August wildfires that killed nearly 100 and destroyed approximately 3% of Maui's housing stock.

The new dashboard can be found online here.
