Elemental Excelerator is now accepting applications for its 2023 Innovation Challenges, the nonprofit investor announced recently.

Up to $2 million in funding is available across this year's challenges, as well as the opportunity to partner with Amazon or Technip Energies, a spokesperson for Elemental told PBN in an email. All applicants will also have access to engagement opportunities with Elemental’s global network of investors, according to the company's website.

Elemental's 2023 Innovation Challenges feature Amazon, which is seeking transportation and building logistics solutions, as well as Technip, which is looking for fuel alternatives and maritime emissions reductions, according to the spokesperson.

"Technip Energies and Amazon would be transformational customers, partners and strategic investors for any startup, and we admire the precedent they are setting in leveraging innovation to drive sustainability knowing that others will follow this example," Saritha Peruri, head of Corporate Partnerships at Elemental, told PBN in an email. "These climate solutions have the ability to drive down costs, increase revenue and drive more efficient business practices."

In the previous two years of Elemental's Innovation Challenges program, the nonprofit engaged around 300 climate startups, and today, there are more than 10 pilots running worldwide, according to the spokesperson.

Applications are open until Sept. 15. For more information on the Innovation Challenges or to apply, visit Elemental Excelerator's website.
